Why So Many Print Sizes?

Photo frames are built in several sizes which means different ratios length to width. To use one image file for so many different print size options can make for some not-so-perfect results.   We want you to enjoy the very best version of each image you chose, without having to do math or confer with your printer. Just download your preferred print size, then find the perfect printer for you. (Refer to the Printing page in the menu above for a lot of helpful hints.) Send off the image and in return you receive a treasure to lift you every time you look at it! Here is how google explains the difference in ratios: The aspect ratio of an 8x10 photo is 5:4, meaning the width is 1.25 times the height. In contrast, the aspect ratio of a 5x7 photo is 7:5, which simplifies to approximately 1:1.4, meaning the width is 1.4 times the height.  This difference means that when printing an image originally captured in a 3:2 ratio (common in DSLR cameras), an 8x10 print will require more significant cropping—almost twice as much as a 5x7 print—on the longest side. The 5x7 print crops the sides slightly, while the 8x10 print crops more noticeably from the top and bottom. Thanks google! While some frame sizes are interchangeable, like the 8x10 print size which is the same ratio as the 16x20 print size, beginning with the exact file size needed to print your favorite image, all you have to do is choose! We've taken care of the math for you!
